At first this sounded very extreme to me and I blew it off a little, but the more I thought about it the more I understood. I began keeping notes in a journal. If I wanted to learn more about a particular field and I was constantly asking peers for help, this advice gave me 2 advantages. People never want to tell you the same thing twice because it shows that you don’t care. Not asking twice makes it more likely for them to keep helping you. On the other hand, asking the same question repeatedly means you are missing out on asking new ones. The bottom line is: Keep a journal and write everything down, so that you never have to learn anything twice.
